We’re Pulse Processing.

Our Story

When mortgages are in your blood, it tends to run deep. Every loan is part of someone else’s journey in life, and we’ve spent a long time learning how to make it meaningful.

Our team has done the originating…
Been the account executive…
Trained and recruited…
Underwritten…
Marketed…
Advised…
Closed…

It didn’t take long to figure out that the true driving force of the process, is the processor themselves. Why wasn’t there an obvious choice for reliable contractors? Why were originators being charged so much for subpar service? Why were turn times simply suggestions, and WHY were so many third-party companies owned by brokers? It just didn’t make sense.

We started Pulse to get sh*t done the right way. We’re the easiest way to make the best impression on your clients. For us, this isn’t just about the profit- it’s about the partnership.

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” – Anais Nin

What are the values that drive you? Integrity and persistence. We must operate at an extraordinary level when nobody is watching to ensure we are doing the right thing by Pulse Processing, the partner, the lender, and the borrower. The solutions aren’t easy to find, so you have to be able to roll your sleeves up and keep digging until you find it.

“Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact, and that is – everything around you that you call life, was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.” – Steve Jobs

What are the values that drive you? Honesty and morality. I do my best to live a life I’d feel comfortable sharing with the world. If you feel you couldn’t be truly honest about an action you’re about to take; it’s probably not the action to be taking. I try every day to be a good mom, a good partner, and a good person.

What led you to the mortgage industry?

As a former secondary educator, I wanted to use my skills as a teacher in a new way. The mortgage industry sort of “fell” in my lap thanks to great friends helping me move on from teaching. I discovered the mortgage industry and was able to dive in headfirst to teach people about buying a home! I wanted to do for others what was done for me when I bought my first house.

What do you like about working at Pulse Processing?

I like that I can just “be.” I can be me; I can be however it is I feel on a certain day, I can be present for the things I need to do in life. The whole idea that there really is work/life balance. It took me a long time to find it. I’m just happy to be a part of the team.

What is the biggest misconception people have about your role?

There is a lot more behind-the-scenes work to loan processing than anyone who hasn’t done the job before is aware of. A processor has to be adaptable to different personalities and environments while maintaining a sense of urgency and professionalism.

What is something [people in your industry/niche] have to deal with in the loan process that you feel you solve?

When processing a loan, you must show constant patience; not only with your borrowers, but ALL parties involved.  I put myself in their shoes to remember that not everyone does this for a living, and most people won’t understand the “why” behind our requests. Mortgages can be intimidating in that way, so I explain things in ways to help people understand without being condescending.

What is the biggest misconception people have about your role?

Processors are paper pushers. There is more to this role than taking documentation from the borrower and pushing it to the underwriter. A great processor makes it easy for borrowers, loan officers, and underwriters by understanding each role every person plays in the transaction and who needs what at any given time. So easy, in fact, the LO is asking you to pick up their loans and the UW is giddy when they get one of your files.

What led you to the mortgage industry?

I decided to take a job with a friend who owned a broker shop doing their payroll, A/R and A/P. I was fascinated with the process from start to finish (funding) of the loan and wanted to eagerly learn more about the programs, loan types, and calculations. I then became a processor and enjoyed the challenges of making a loan complete. I find this role very rewarding.
